28 years after his visit to South Tipperary, it has been revealed that the Secret Service thwarted an attempted attack on US President Ronald Reagan in Ballyporeen.
The documentary, ' A Rainy Day in June', which looked at the Presidents visit to Ballyporeen in 1984, was aired on Tipp FM last night.
In an interview with Derek Davis, he reveals that the Secret Service quickly dealt with a man who tried to attack the President.
The story was not widely known and wasn't reported at the time.
